TDX business update on Coronavirus – COVID-19

24 Mar 2020

Here is some key business information in response to the Coronavirus emergency.

Volvo have temporarily closed their Swedish factories. This does not affect our ability to support our machines with spare parts and technical support at this stage.

We currently have at least two months’ stock of most models.

Our other key suppliers including Yanmar, Sennebogen, Perkins, Allison, Kohler and Shell are continuing to operate as normal in terms of machinery and parts availability.

Airfreight capacity is constrained and sea-freight capacity has been affected with lead-times & costs increasing.

Mainfreight and NZ Couriers, our key local freight partners are essential service providers. They will continue working for us too.

What are we doing to reduce the risk of our staff and customers contracting the virus and keeping our business operating?

We have adopted all of the best practice hygiene and sanitation practices as recommended by the Health Department.

Our staff have been given explicit instructions that they are to stay at home even if they feel a little unwell.

We have eliminated all travel domestically and put restrictions on movement of our staff.

None of our staff have contracted the virus.

We have nine staff in self-isolation. They are strictly following the Health Department guidelines for self-isolation.

Large group meetings have been banned.

A significant number of our people are now working from home as of this week. We are confident that we can continue to provide a high level of service indefinitely and as an essential business involved in supporting electrical supply, building and construction, waste collection, transport and logistic and primary industries including forestry.
