Soloman Islands Electricty Authority - Generator supply

After more than 12 months of negotiations TDX is pleased to announce that we have signed a contract with Northpower Ltd.

TDX will be supplying 12 new Kohler generators to the Solomon Islands Electricity Authority. This is the largest single order for generators, TDX has ever received.

Northpower and TDX have a very good business relationship consummated with the recent supply and installation of 3 x 1250kVA generators for the Salelologa power station on the island of Savai’i, Samoa.

The SIEA generators are to be located at remote power stations and will be upgrading or replacing existing generators, which will be running on a 24/7 shared basis.

The project has had several challenges not least of which is logistics. Getting the goods shipped to Honiara from France is a journey of close to three months and involves 6 x 40’ open top containers. Our contract is to supply: 6 x 700kVA, 1 x 350kVA and 5 x 165kVA Kohler Generators.

We will also be supplying exhaust packages and fuel line sets for local assembly and a 15,000 litre fuel tank and fuel system for one power station.

TDX will oversee the unloading of the containers in Honiara, test the machines and programme controllers and carry out SIEA staff product familiarisation

The generators will also be treated with a special anti-corrosion product.

All of the generators feature 24 hour base fuel tanks, the latest Kohler APM802 synchronising controllers and acoustic enclosures.

We are hugely appreciative of the efforts of Northpower in securing this contract.
