We're Committed to working towards a more sustainable future.

Why is TDX committed to reducing our carbon footprint?

As a leading supplier of construction equipment, diesel engines and transmissions, as well as consumable and lubricant products to the heavy-machinery industry, at TDX we are committed to reducing our Carbon Footprint and working towards a more sustainable future.

Several of our brand partners including Volvo construction equipment, Shell lubricants and Sennebogen have already signalled their sustainability goals and are well on their journey contributing toward a more sustainable future. As a partner of these world-class brands, we have a job to do locally as well.

We want to be a market leader, leading the charge within the heavy construction industry in reducing our carbon emissions across several different categories of our business from direct and indirect emissions, transportation, the products and services we use or produce as well as other sources.

Emission Sources

At TDX we are committed to a more sustainable future. So much so we now have a dedicated Sustainability and Quality Manager to support the team through this journey of reducing our carbon footprint.

How is TDX reducing their carbon footprint?

We have partnered with Toitū Envirocare.

With the guidance of Toitū Envirocare we have started our journey by analysing and understanding our carbon footprint.

Our aim now is to focus on our reduction strategy through staff and supplier engagement.

Who is Toitū Envirocare?

Toitū Envirocare is a wholly-owned subsidiary of Manaaki Whenua - Landcare Research, a Government-owned Crown Research Institute.

Currently serving over 800 clients worldwide, they are a team of scientists and business experts who have come together to protect the ecological and economic future of this place by helping businesses realise efficiencies, reduce their carbon footprint, and become more sustainable.

What does Toitū offer?

Toitū Envirocare offer environmental programmes based on science and backed by evidence that is internationally recognised.

Enrolled in the Toitū carbonreduce certified programme, Toitū is providing TDX tailored software and technical guidance, independent audits and third-party certification. Everything they need to embark upon their carbon reduction journey.

What does Toitū carbonreduce certified mean to TDX?

Certification is proof TDX is taking action on climate change through measuring, monitoring and managing the reduction of the greenhouse gas footprint of our business, products and services.

Being Toitū carbonreduce certified means that TDX is measuring emissions to ISO 14064-1:2018 standard and Toitū requirements; and managing and reducing against Toitū requirements.

What does Toitū carbonreduce certification process look like?

Toitū will help TDX accurately measure our greenhouse gas emissions, and put in place strategies to manage and reduce impacts.

The Toitū team will support TDX to set and establish real and achievable goals to reduce our GHG emissions. Compliance with the programme is independently verified annually to maintain certification.

What's the next step for TDX

Over the coming months, we will be reviewing our carbon footprint across a number of different GHG emission sources. From there we will be working with the Toitu team to find ways of reducing our carbon footprint.

The areas we are focusing on include:

Direct Emissions

  •   Fuel
  •   Refrigerants
  •   Gases

Indirect Emissions

  •   Electricity

Transport Emissions

  •   Freight
  •   Air travel
  •   Rental cars
  •   Accommodation
  •   Waste
